Álvaro López, Social Council Award for the "Best Thesis" in Experimental Sciences

A large part of  IFCA staff has a direct and intense participation in the Universitdad de Cantabria (UC) degree programme. Furthermore, IFCA promotes two official inter-university Master's programmes (accredited by the National Education System, ANECA) with the University of Cantabria and the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), with the collaboration of CSIC.

The creation of the two Master's was a strategic decision by the institute to promote two multidisciplinary research topics with great potential for collaboration between IFCA's lines of research.

The Master in Data Science began in the 2017-2018 academic year, while the second Master in Particle Physics and Physics of the Cosmos is now in its second edition, starting classes in 2019-2020 academic year.

These two programmes also provide access to doctoral studies in "Science and Technology" at the Doctoral School of the University of Cantabria (EDUC, the first doctoral school created in Spain). Therefore, the training activity of the institute has resulted in more than 65 Doctoral Theses from 2005 to date, with the support of the centre's research staff. Some of them have also received national recognition with the "Extraordinary Doctorate Award" or the "Social Council Award".
