AYA2012-39767-C02-01: AThena (Advanced telescope for High Energy Astrophysics): Definition Phase. Development of TES-based sensor arrays.

​This rolling grant presents a comprehensive plan for the Spanish participation in the Definition phase of Athena+ payload, specifically the X-IFU (X-­‐ray Integral Field Unit) instrument. X-IFU is a cryogenic calorimeter array based on Transition Edge Sensors, which will deliver spatially resolved high resolution  spectroscopy, opening new capacities in the study of the extreme Universe. The proposed contribution to the Definition Phase of X-IFU by Spain (in collaboration with SRON-NL  IP institute) will be developed in two work packages: the Event Processor Performance Verification and Software and the  Development of the front end (TES-­‐based)  sensor array with SRON.
