The president of
the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), Rosa Menéndez, has visited,
for the first time, the Institute of Physics of
Cantabria (IFCA).
Menéndez has
highlighted the "extraordinary relationship" between the two
institutions. "I get an excellent impression, especially from the point of
view of the good relationship that exists between the University and the CSIC. It is a
center in which there is a perfect symbiosis and an excellent
collaboration," she said. The president of CSIC has also highlighted
that "this institute is focusing on cutting-edge research topics, it avoids
dispersion and is converging so that different groups will focus on emerging
frontier issues, and thus be at the forefront of international research."
The Spanish Council
for Scientific Research, the largest public research organization
in the country by number of researchers and budget, has collaborated for
decades with the University of Cantabria. The CSIC and the UC
jointly manage the Institute of Physics of Cantabria since its creation in
1995.
